Thomas M. Watt – Kingdom of Kingsley

Artists are not born. Artists are not manufactured.

Artists are molded throughout a lifetime of pain, suffering, and an inability to express themselves through a normal means of communication.

Emotional, social, and conventional intelligence may allude them. Normal daily living fits them worse than a round hole for a square peg. But hand them their medium of choice, and what they do with it will amaze you.

You see them everyday. With pink hair, with dark hair, with no hair.

Creativity oozes out from true artists. To an extent that is infuriating, frustrating, and unsettling.

These types do not pay attention in school. These types appear withdrawn from their jobs. These types have have an obsession with designing, with altering, with perfecting. It is an obsession that the world views as destructive, for the world does not recognize its use.

The heads think about money, elevating social positions, and collecting material possessions.

The artists contemplate beauty, craftsmanship, and a longing for a world where they are free.

Freedom to do things better. Freedom to find out what is possible. Freedom to dream their own reality.

Dream your Reality.

  1. If you have written four books that you are happy with, I would consider you a writer. I don’t like labels myself. Bob Dylan considers himself a trapeze artist.

    Cheers,

  2. Thank you so much for dropping by wePoets, it’s much appreciated. We’d be happy to showcase your books should you want to share. If so, our Submission and theme pages explain everything. πŸ™‚

    • I plan on self-publishing the short thriller I’m working on the first of next month. The process of querying agents and hoping to get traditionally published is too draining for me. Right now, I feel strongly that the most important thing I do is expand my name through social media platforms, and put out a book that others would like to read. I’ve received great responses on “Master”, so I feel that my next step is to build hype around its release. Promoting my own work is something that is foreign to me, but I also know that it is necessary if I’m going to succeed in this industry. How about yourself?

  4. Thanks, Thomas for stopping by my blog, michelleconnellwrites.net. There’s still time to enter the cover contest, it’s open until 8:00 p.m. central time tomorrow.

Good luck in getting your book out! I’m right there with you, getting my first out in the next few days. I too, would rather just write and forget about all this ‘social’ and marketing stuff. Take care!

  5. Thomas, my friend, so glad for your visit. And I am so glad to have the opportunity to comment again. Hopefully this comment don’t end up in Vincent’s blog since I see his comment about that famous award right before this comment of mine. For I am still confused about this comment & liking matter. I find it hilarious to write to one and get an answer from another!
Anyhow my confusion is paying off because I am getting new great followers in return. I think I am going to patent this confused state of mine!
The best that happened yesterday is my comment to a brilliant young men that started to follow me. In my enthusiasm I wrote a comment that much impressed him. He replied, ‘Thank you, sir! I thought that to be so funny and I replied telling him he had put a smile on my face. The young man responded with apologies to this Madam, I replied that there was no need to apologize but, that I had bamboozled my young friends and make them treat me as a queen because my Greek name means Queen, so I was giving him permission to drop the ‘Madam’ and addressed my as ‘Your highness’ just kidding of course! O there is more to the exchange but for lack of space to tell it all!
I have not heard from him yet but, he is still following my posts, thank goodness! What you think? Am I building content for a constructive fun book? Wonder if Father would approve? πŸ™‚

      • You have no idea how this whole affair has turned out. This young man could be the exact copy of my beloved Cory, little did I know the reason why he stole my heart! Now he has turned out to be My Friend just like you! He has written the most heart touching comments and I will miss him for he will be in Africa without Internet for a whole month!
I am getting ready to post a whooppy of a comment. Hold your breath, it won’t be long.(only breath if you start to turn blue!) lol

  7. There’s a certain synergy in being the one hundredth person to ‘like’ this entry – thanks for stopping by my blog and best wishes for a capacious 2016…

  8. Loved these thoughts. Sometimes I fancy myself an artist. Other times I find myself caught in the mundane of life. This reminded me of the bright light creativity brings into my life and how gray everything else can be. I need to cultivate and nurture more of the light. Thank you for sharing this.

  9. Kudos to you, sir! It’s one thing to write a novel–it’s another to actually publish it. That takes passion and GUTS.
Send me a shout if “A New Kingdom” ever ends up in print (I could only find it for Kindle). I’m sure there are some teens at my day job (YA Librarian) that would fucking love it. πŸ™‚

    • Thank you so much, geekkat! I might be a while, but I will get around to it. I’m always honored to be nominated for an award, even if I take some time to write the honorary post. You rule, thank you for the nomination!
