Master and Too Perfect Marriage Update – 10/10

PART_1441565706467_20150816_135846

I know many of you are looking forward to the next part of Too Perfect Marriage. I’ll get to that in a moment.

The cover to Master is in! I can’t wait to show it to you, Ellie Augsburger did an incredible job. I’ve finished Master, and currently am going through and solidifying things. It’s crucial to hammer out the plot in the first few drafts, but a side-effect of focusing on plot is the dialogue becomes interchangeable. Every word that exits a character’s mouth should be specific to their unique personality. A lot goes into a single line – plot, characterization, emotion, and intrigue, just to name a few. When I say intrigue, I mean that their are lines of dialogue that spark interest even without full awareness of the context.

Along with editing Master and blogging short stories, I’m also a full-time student at a local cc. So many hours spent on the computer can take a toll on you mentally – it’s important to use your body. Earlier this week I felt like I could read the same question from a homework assignment 15 times over and still not understand what it was asking.

I plan to transition from writing mode to promotion mode next week. Don’t worry, I’m not just going to fire out constant updates for Master. I’m inclined to post half-a-page of my book a day up until I publish it. Hopefully, doing this will show you that the book is pretty good, and maybe when I release it you’ll be curious enough to download it (I’m debating whether or not to make it available for free during the first five days of its release).

As for Too Perfect Marriage, I should be wrapping up the series next week. Check back on Monday, I plan on posting part 7 then.

I Need to Be

Image

Feel your stare your absent glare your want of knowing what’s in there,

Know you sought to know me through, I’ve got not much to say to you.

I’m sorry girl but don’t you see these thoughts have got the best of me.

Would rather here some more ’bout you like what it is you want to do.

Tired of the thoughts of me, tired of wanting, needing sleep.

Say to me the things unsaid the things most folks so often dread.

You know the words the rhythmic blues the fear of saying just what is true.

I know you feel it ’cause I do to, I know just what is plaguing you.

But don’t you see the vision’s free the only way to ecstasy.

You hear me spinning words like that, that’s just to get you on your back.

No I’m kidding, joking please. Don’t mean to make you quake you knees.

Ah nice slap that hurt a bit I’m sorry girl I cannot quit.

Sometimes the way these thoughts expel like flagrant breaths through quiets yells.

Baby girl it’s back to you, tell me so I feel them too.

Don’t ask me what, you know the answer, it’s penned inside your heart’s disaster.

Show me pain and misery I’ll show you mine but for a fee.

I swear it tears me up inside, pulls my heart out, leaves me dry.

Please don’t go there, please don’t please, please just see I need to be.

Not quite trying, nothing cares, here’s the secret I’d like to share –

Hold your moans your throbbing chest, you cannot let me get the best.

Oh quit trying to play me please it’s all a game until you weep.

Sorry girl, you have to know, the thoughts own me I have to go.

Writer’s Conference!

Ok just finished with a three day weekend writers conference, run by Writer’s Digest in the LA area. Awesome! If you’ve never gone to one your really should. I probably got 20 something business cards, contact information of four different agents, and the chance meetings of several really important people. Very interested in screenwriting industry. Anyways, I’m extremely tired now, but I will write more about his awesome event later…

Can you believe that there are places where writers get together in real life?? And when you talk about writing your book, other people talk about writing their own, and you realize you’re not just an alien?? Awesome!

Let the Tree Grow

Image

Tired sobs run through my head, nose congested feel like dread.

Tomorrow marks a big day for me, if tomorrow sparks then fire springs.

Yet right now I feel like sighing, so damn tired, so long been trying.

Can’t speak too much of things unsaid, can’t think too much just want my bed.

No more pain in sleep at night, no more turning sleepless nights.

I hope to God I move somewhere, I hope so badly that fruit will bear.

Moving on from living dreams, achieving them is the next best thing.

I Doth Sweat

Image

Sweat profusing from my head and my arms legs and then

I go outside to sweat some more this sun beats hard these rays are whores.

Cannot tell you how to spell can only say the rhymes I tell.

Though some of them are much better though some of them go much deeper.

This one’s not as good no I don’t think I’m pretty sure this rhyme doth stink.

You know what man I don’t quite care I’m sweating badly through my hair my underarms they do sweat too I smell so bad I shouldn’t tell you.

Well you know a-ha pity, Doe a dear a female thing. What the heck is with my mind why this guy rhyme all the time?

It’s a crazy a gift I’m told no not really a curse of old these rhymes keep coming talking too I don’t know why you read them through.

Ya da-da da-dey de dom, dom de do na jay asom. Lesson learned no not a thing just a matter of time wasting.

How depressing this rhyme is whatever I don’t care I wrote this shit. But before and on this day I wrote a story I thought was great guess it sucked no one read it just another piece of shit but if seemed good from what I read, but then again it was in my head I hope that you’ve enjoyed our time I hope you kinda liked my rhyme but if you didn’t I don’t care go read that story cause it’s still there.
